Holland will have to overcome the resistance of some East European countries in the qualifying stages for the 2008 European Championship. The draw was made in Montreux on Friday morning. The Euro 2008 will be held in Austria and Switzerland. Holland are in group G, where they will meet Romania and Bulgaria as most difficult opponents. The other countries in this qualifying group G are Albania, Slovenia, Belarus and Luxembourg. Holland could have faced tougher tests. France, e.g., have been drawn with Italy and Ukraine; The Czech Republic and Germany have been linked and England will meet Croatia and Russia. Belgium are in the only group of eight countries; they will meet Portugal, Poland and Serbia & Montenegro.
