Phillip Cocu, André Ooijer and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink are the PSV players that have been called up for the provisional 30-man squad of the Dutch team for a friendly against Ecuador op 1 March.Marco van Basten, coach of the Dutch national team, has named as many as six AZ players, among whom the entire AZ defence. The former PSV players Mark van Bommel, Arjen Robben, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Klaas Jan Huntelaar have also been invited, but the PSV players Theo Lucius and Ibrahim Afellay have not received a call-up. The final squad will be announced on February 24. The new kit that the players of the Dutch team are going to wear at the World Cup 2006 was officially presented yesterday. The colour of the home shirt is classic orange and the designers have clearly been inspired by the shirt that was worn by the Dutch team in 1959. The shirt was also completed with a collaret in those days. The away kit is completely different from what the players used to wear the past decade. The design has been derived from the first shirt ever worn by a player of the Dutch team, on 30 April 1905, when Holland met Belgium for the first time in an official game.
