Guus Hiddink will travel to Russia next Friday to be officially presented as the coach of the Russian national football team. Hiddink announced the news during the press briefing ahead of the domestic league game, at home against Feyenoord tomorrow night. Hiddink confirmed on Monday night for the first time that he has accepted an offer from the Russian Football Union. The PSV head coach will sign a two-year deal, up to and including the Euro 2008 in Switzerland and Austria. He will attempt to tie up with the big European countries. "I will be there for two years, up to and including the Euro 2008. I will analyze, change a few things and see whether I can contribute in other fields. But my main concern will be the national team", explained Hiddink on Tuesday.Hiddink said he had some options left, but he added that he has virtually reached an agreement with the Russian Football Union. "I will be given an opportunity to present my ideas. I can bring along my own assistants. I will be given carte blanche and attempt to tie up with the big European countries. I will first of all make an inventory, with an open mind. It is obviously a big country and they have a rich football history. We want them to be successful on the European stage. I will be in Eindhoven today and tomorrow and we will travel to Russia on Friday for the official presentation. And we will be on the road to Breda on Sunday to face NAC Breda."
