PSV and Theo Lucius will part ways. The 29-year-old versatile darling of the crowd has put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Rotterdam outfit, with the option of a fourth year. Theeeooo Lucius has always been one of the most popular players. He showed fighting spirit at each and every game and he never moaned if he was not included in the starting line-up. Hundreds of fans were members of his own fan club and he was always willing to be present at fans social activities and help charitable organizations. Lucius will link up with coach Erwin Koeman in the Rotterdam Kuip. "Feyenoord are the only club in Holland I want to play for besides PSV," announced Lucius on www.feyenoord.nl. "And the fact that Erwin Koeman is coach at Feyenoord played a major part, when I took the decision.Since 1988, Lucius spent seven seasons with PSV, during which he was on loan with FC Utrecht for one season. Lucius is looking forward to making appearances for his new club. When we started negotiations I soon felt reassured, he explains. Feyenoord were really anxious to have me and I felt flattered by their interest. Erwin Koeman is also delighted Lucius has completed a three-year-deal. I know Theo pretty well and I am sure he is a genuine Feyenoord player is. He is an asset to the club in view of the kind of game he likes to play and of and character. Theo can be played in several positions and he will never let his team down. I knew he was not a regular player at PSV and that he was looking for a new challenge. He will strengthen our midfield options. As he is set to start anyhow, it will also put pressure on the other midfield players. Lucius has won many trophies when he was in the service of PSV and he intends to achieve similar achievement during his spell with Feyenoord. This club has not won too many trophies the past few years in spite of the tremendous support they receive. I want to won trophies here. We will try to be successful on three fronts next season, so there are plenty of opportunities to win silverware once again. Lucius, who is versatile and can be played as a defender and midfield player, is not very anxious to be played on one particular position. The coach knows I can be played in several positions, but thats up to him. Koeman is more specific in his answer. Theo will probably be played as midfielder, where he is expected to put in fine performances. But actually he can be played anywhere. He once was a left winger, when PSV and he did fine. But we will have plenty of time to try out one or two things during the pre-season warm-up friendlies.PSV want to thank Theo for all the years he spent in Eindhoven and on behalf of all the fans we wish him well at his new club.Theo, Good Luck!
