32-year-old Gerald Sibon is no longer a PSV player. The tall striker is going to ply his trade in Germany with 1. FC Nürnberg. "Playing in the Bundesliga is a great challenge for me", said Sibon. He did not join the PSV squad for a six-day training camp in England, as he had not recovered completely yet from a head injury he sustained during the friendly against KVSK United. Sibon, who joined PSV in the summer of 2004, signed a one-year deal in Germany. I hope I can play my part in reaching the clubs aims. The striker will compete in a foreign league for the second time in his career. He spent four seasons with Sheffield Wednesday before. He was not a regular first team player with PSV, but scored a few crucial goals. "We had good talks with Gerald and PSV", announces1. FC Nürnberg technical director Martin Bader on the clubs website. "I am sure Gerald will strengthen our attacking options." Sibon, born in Emmen in 1974, had spells at FC Twente, VVV, Roda JC, Ajax, Sheffield Wednesday and Heerenveen, where he scored 15 goals in 25 appearances during his final season. Sibon and PSV will actually meet again pretty soon. PSV meet Nürnberg in the easyCredit-Stadium next week Saturday for a pre-season friendly.
