The full PSV squad trained for the last time on English soil on Friday afternoon. PSV play Newcastle United on Saturday and only a small group of players will then enter the training pitch. The emphasis at Friday’s second training session was on set pieces and finishing on target. The players did several ‘piggy in the middle’ versions as well and there was also time for a laugh at the end of the training session. Goalkeeping Joop Hiele asked the squad to run six laps around a ball, before producing a shot on target. None of the players succeeded in keeping their balance, to the great delight of the inventor of this special exercise! Some other players tried to beat goalkeeper Moens from the spot.
