It has been the topic of conversation for a long time. On Saturday night PSV can break an old Ajax record from the 1970-1971 season, where it concerns the number of minutes in league games without conceding a goal. The Eindhoven side has equaled the record number of eleven games in which a clean sheet has been kept, but now the number of minutes is at stake. The PSV goalkeepers have kept a clean sheet for 1020 minutes up to and including the FC Twente tie last weekend. Ajax managed to keep a clean sheet for 1082 minutes in the 1970-1971 campaign. So PSV must not concede a goal in the first 63 minutes of the league game, away at de Graafschap in Doetinchem on Saturday night. PSV historian Peter Verhagen browsed through the archives to find out what the former PSV record was. Actually he did not have to go back a long time in history. The former record as to keeping a clean sheet since the introduction of professional football in Holland dates from the 2002-2003 season.Ronald Waterreus and Jelle ten Rouwelaar (90 minutes) did not concede a goal for 627 minutes in that season.
