The Fenerbahçe squad inspected the pitch in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven on Monday night. The Turkish champions trained for about one hour. Many Turkish fans had come to see the players in action, cheering on stars such as Roberto Carlos, Alex de Souza, the Ghanese Appiah, Marco Aurelio and goalkeeper Volkan. Mateja Kezman was forced to stay in Istanbul for treatment, after he had sustained an injury.
Media representatives and fans alike were welcome at the training, but coach Zico wanted all cameras to be removed after some twenty minutes. Fenerbahçe last met PSV in Eindhoven two seasons ago, the day after Mr Frits Philips had passed away. PSV earned a 2-0 victory with Phillip Cocu and Jefferson Farfán on target on matchday six of the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League group stage campaign, booking a place to the next phase.
If Ronald Koeman's team manages to take all three points tomorrow night, they will again have taken a major step towards qualification for the next round. Watch the best action from Fenerbahçe's training session at the Philips Stadium.
