The squad of the Dutch team reported for duty in Noordwijk on Tuesday afternoon to kick off their Euro 2008 preparations. Later that afternoon, they trained for the first time, ahead of the tournament in Austrian and Switzerland. PSV midfielder Ibrahim Afellay joined his team mates on the training pitch of amateurs Quick Boys in the Dutch seaside resort of Katwijk.
Luc van Agt, the PSV fitness coach who has joined the technical staff of the Dutch team as exercise pgysiologist, was also on the training pitch. The Dutch team will meet Ukraine, with Chelsea striker Andrei Shevchenko and Anatoliy Tymoshuk of UEFA Cup winners Zenit, in an international friendly at the Rotterdam Kuip on Saturday.
