After a physically demanding two-hour training session, the PSV first-team squad and coaching staff left the training pitch. They then kindly signed a great many autographs to please PSV fans who were queuing up hundreds deep to get an autograph from their heroes. Two training sessions are scheduled each day as the players return to pre-season training.
Physically demanding session
Three players missed the first day of training. Edison Méndez (muscle problem), Jan Kromkamp (knee) and keeper Bas Roorda (back) trained separately from the squad on Monday in a bid to recover from their injuries. The other players were on the training pitch, including Ghana defender Eric Addo, and went through all the drills. The players were made to work very hard as the first week of the pre-season programme consists of rigorous physical training. Hundreds of fans had come to De Herdgang training facilities and patiently queued up to get their autographs.
