It was another night of mixed fortunes for the PSV players away on international duty. Ibrahim Afellay, Dirk Marcellis, Balázs Dzsudzsák and Timmy Simons were on the winning side. Andreas Isaksson's Sweden recorded a draw, while Danko Lazovic had no involvement at all.
Sweden - Portugal: 0-0
Isaksson put in a fine display in Sweden's' 0-0 draw with Portugal, as the PSV keeper kept a clean sheet and thwarted efforts from renowned players, the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Almeida. Sweden have five points from their three Group One games, one more than Portugal.
Hungary - Albania: 2-0
The group's other game saw Erwin Koeman's Hungary collect a 2-0 home win over Albania. PSV forward Balázs Dzsudzsák played the entire game, but did not manage to score a goal. Hungary have earned four points and are on level points with Portugal and Albania. The Hungarians will take on Malta on Wednesday. Malta are bottom of their group and have conceded ten goals so far.
Belgium - Armenia: 2-0
Belgium, who failed to qualify for the Euro 2008, claimed a 2-0 victory against Armenia at the King Boudewijn Stadium in Brussels on Saturday night. Sonck and Fellaini scored first-half goals to ensure victory for the Belgians. Captain Timmy Simons played the full 90 minutes. Belgium, along with Turkey, are two point behind leaders Spain, who face Belgium in Brussels on Wednesday night.
Serbia - Lithuania: 3-0
Serbia are leaders of Group Seven on goal difference, following an emphatic 3-0 victory against joint leaders Lithuania in Belgrade. Danko Lazovic was a non-used substitute. Serbia and Lithuania have six points from three games. The Serbs will face Austria in Vienna on Wednesday.
