Striker Fernando Torres will not join his Liverpool team mates for the trip to Eindhoven on Monday. The 24-year-old international is expected to be sidelined for four weeks after he sustained a hamstring injury in Liverpool's Champions League win over Olympique Marseille. Liverpool will not rush him back.
'Only come back when he is ready '
Torres will miss Saturday's Premier League match against André Ooijer's Blackburn Rovers and will not make the trip to Eindhoven to face PSV in the Champions League final Group D game. The Spanish Euro 2008 hero is also likely to miss the Premier League matches against Hull, Arsenal and Bolton. 'We first said two to three weeks, but we do not want to put a time on it now, he will only come back when he is ready', says Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez. Torres himself hopes to make a comeback on 28 December when Liverpool take on Newcastle United. 'Now the only thing to do is to get on with the rehabilitation and make sure that I come back when I am ready and not too soon.' Torres was not on target when Liverpool played host to PSV at Anfield on 1 October.
