The Russian referee Nikolay Ivanov will take charge of Tuesday's Champions League match between PSV and Liverpool. 44-year-old Ivanov is sometimes mistaken for his countryman Valentin Ivanov, who lost control during a storming encounter between hosts Portugal and Holland at the World Cup 2006.

Valentin Ivanov handed out 16 yellow cards and an unprecedented four reds. His namesake Nikolay Ivanov will be assisted in Eindhoven on Tuesday night by his countrymen Nikolai Golubev and Viacheslav Semenov. Aleksei Nikolaev is the fourth official. PSV will train in the stadium on Monday morning at 11 am. After the final training session ahead of Tuesday's game, PSV Huub Stevens will preview the game at the customary pre-match press conference.
